CBS Concept
Website Design - School Project
This project is a relaunch of the existing CBS platform, focusing on its online presence and the new and improved Paramount+ subscription service, which offers access to shows and live television. The goal is to represent CBS with a new minimalist, modern design that attracts more website traffic and increases subscriptions for Paramount+.
Vision
With competitors like Fox, ABC, NBC and other online services, I saw that there was an opportunity to enhance CBS’s webservice by creating an all in one service that users can interact with. This could be solved by making it more appealing as a primary streaming service where users can watch the news, read news articles, stream Paramount+ and watch live television without having to go to two separate locations to do so.

Digital Wireframe Examples
A concept and research phase which refers to an existing brand for this project. This section will showcase a brief overview of the navigation pathing and thought process behind the building of these detailed wireframes, soon after a full thought out digital appearance follows.
This appearance was structured into digestible wireframes, that gives a minimalist look, with limited amount of additional functionalities of the current site and gives more supportive tools which build the framework for an engaging experience for the user.

Navigation
Here is a very detailed composition for both desktop and mobile devices to eliminate possible doubts at an early stage. It showcases which buttons do what and how the user experience and user interface is of the utmost importance when it comes to redesigning the CBS webpage for both Desktop and Mobile.
The most challenging aspect of setting up this page was anchoring and creating interactive click dummies because of the huge amount of content that should have been neatly structured at this point.
Webpage Navigation Prototyping
Prototyping
The new desktop design focuses on providing a simplified version of the website that feeds into the Paramount+ streaming service for users. This new design houses an all in one service where users can have a one stop shop where you can watch CBS news, read about current events, watch live shows hosted on CBS and stream Paramount+.
Showcasing the pathing and prototyping display for the new design.
Final Concept
For the last part of this project, it is presented to showcase all of the different types of pages that were built out. By now this page has taken you from thought process, to wireframes, to compositions, to final design.

Reflection
Reflecting on the project
This was one of my proudest projects for school, I was able to discover a new love for design as well as a passion for UI/UX that I still continue to explore. Below are 3 key take aways that I accomplished:
Was able to redesign a well known product - this project is now used as an example of successful UI Design implementation for lecture in future classes by the professor.
Was able to identify active usability issues and enhance those key features.
I was able to unlock a new passion in my design career, and it has shaped my new career choice.
Project Takeaways
As a fan of Star Trek and a user of Paramount+ I had a particular interest in this project and I would welcome the opportunity work with CBS one day and really flesh out their webservices to really bring these improvements to life. Being able to redesign something that I’m passionate about really lent into how enjoyable the experience was.
Some key takeaways are:
Continue to enhance my skills: Although this was a small project that took roughly 3 weeks to complete it has shaped my future in what career path I am now changing too. It is the main reason how I discovered that the CBS webpage needed to fix its User Experience.
My skillset upgraded: My understanding and skill set grew as I found that there are unique needs designing for a desktop web service. This was also the first time that I was able to work on Adobe XD and really explore what the software had to offer.
UI/UX is more important than I thought: As a senior graphic designer with 12 years experience under my belt, I always new graphic design was the core foundation for a lot of designers. However, working on the CBS project it opened my eyes to how important UI/UX is, and how its in everything we use.
While this project isn’t the latest in what I have accomplished I leave it here to show my passion, personality, and growth as a designer. It is because of this project that I now have the privilege and opportunity to work in tech with roughly 5 years of UI/UX Experience. It’s also a huge reason why I keep this project in my portfolio because it showcases my passion, growth and love for design. I want to truly stay humble as I progress forward in my career.
